RW 04 Kelapa Island COVID-19 Task Force Improving Synergy with Other Parties

COVID-19 Task Force of RW 04, Kelapa Island Urban Village, North Thousand Islands Sub-district keeps improving its synergy with local residents and related sub-agencies to optimize its efforts in preventing and handling COVID-19.

RW 04 Kelapa Island Urban Village COVID-19 Task Force Leader, Khairul Waroh mentioned, comunity elements such as RT administrators, PKK cadres, youth organizations (karang taruna), integrated healthcare center (posyandu), LMK, FKDM, religious and community leaders became strategic partners in educating and encouraging residents to comply with health protocols in preventing COVID-19 transmission.

"We always remind residents to be disciplined in wearing masks, washing their hands with soap, maintaining safe distance, not gathering and staying away from crowd," he asserted, Thursday (1/14).

Tightening PSBB, Kelapa Island COVID-19 Task Force Intensifies Health Protocols Monitoring

Accompanied by local urban village officials, his side routinely monitors health protocols compliance in public areas and regional border areas such as piers and parks.

"Not only socializing and educating residents, we also strict in imposing sanction since it is quite effective to give deterrent effect in order to make people obey with health protocols" he said.

He also has intensive communication with local healthcare facilities, such as puskesmas. When there are residents exposed to COVID-19, they can be handled quickly and accurately thus it doesn't spread to others.

"In early pandemic period, five of our residents were exposed to COVID-19. It becomes a valuable lesson, because residents become more orderly and no one has been exposed to COVID-19," he stated.

On the other hand, Kelapa Island Urban Village Head, Madi Moh. Dali appreciated RW 04 COVID-19 Task Force and local residents who are actively invoved in preventing COVID-19 spread through independent and integrated monitoring.

"We appreciate local residents who are active in preventing COVID-19 spread in their region, while still coordinating well with all parties," he conveyed.
